Another Big Vinyl Record Sale

Having vinyl record sales at your home is a great way to meet new friends and neighbors and to turn your duplicates and unwanted albums into cash.

I’ve had a few record sales and it seems like each one gets a little bit better because as we go we learn about what’s important and what’s not.

Quality versus quantity: while it’s true that people want a nice selection to look through, I believe that what they really want is a quality vinyl record that’s not overpriced, warped, smells like smoke, or water damaged. It also really helps if you know something about the album and can talk a little bit about it such as why you bought it, what type of genre it is and your overall score. Don’t be afraid to be honest and say you know this is foghat’s third album It’s a good album but it’s not great and I’ve already got a copy so that’s my reason for selling it I think people would much rather hear and honest review then for you to jump up on the stomp and to claim that every album is great and that you hate to see it go.

Having a good selection of $1 records I think helps. It lets the people who are financially conservative have something to look through and if someone buys $10 or $20 worth of albums from me I always make it a point to tell them to go ahead and take an album or two from the $1 box It makes them feel good and it gets rid of albums that I don’t have to lug around until the next sale.

As a rule I wipe down the $1 albums and I clean with my disc clean system any album that is $3 or more. I realize that 95% of the people selling vinyl records are not going to do this but let me tell you that I’ve had more than one person come back and tell me how much they appreciated the condition that the album was in and the fact that they were able to take it home and put it right on their turntable and not worry about grit, sand, dust or dirt damaging their turntable. I also spend a little bit of money and buy the very nice sleeves to put the albums into. They are thick plastic and it really does make an old album look almost new again. I think it creates a tremendous amount of value and I know for a fact that it helps sell the product. The company that I buy from and have been buying from for well over a decade is located in San Luis Obispo California I will post a photo below showing you what I order, I usually get them in quantities of either 500 or 1,000.

I’m getting tired of typing so I’m going to make myself a cup of coffee and I’ll continue to add new posts soon. Thank you for reading and please feel free to leave any questions or comments below Thank you for visiting.
